For example, if you live in an area considered a single-family neighborhood, the house will already be close enough for you to be attached to it. Take into consideration where you plan on living and what type of traffic area you and your family will be subjected to. When you're taught to love, you adapt that same love. When you're taught to hate, you adapt that same hate. Ignorance simply comes from what others seem to adapt around them. I remember last year I was walking past a young boy and while the parade was going on I remember him saying 'ew, that's disgusting…' I remember thinking in my head 'how could you?!' But then I remember that no one's really born with that type of ignorance. By accepting others on their uniqueness it means that we will start getting ahead as a society. What makes someone truly unique is their way of looking at life as a whole. It's how they challenge the average norms, and how it is going to change certain perspectives. What makes someone special is their uniqueness.

It makes me sick at the fact that there are certain people in society that just truly cannot accept. I could never understand why anyone should be rejected just because they are not the same as everyone else.

I feel that society has taken such a turn on certain things to where being non-hetero should be accepted by everyone. Forty-nine ribbons will be hung outside City Hall, an exhibit on the tragedy is being held at the Orange County History Center and a rainbow flag will be hung from the Orange County Administration building. On Tuesday, bells will be run 49 times at a church in downtown Orlando and a remembrance service will be held at the nightclub, where a planned memorial is in development. The parents of murdered gay college student, Matthew Shepard, spoke in Orlando, a "rainbow run" was held in a park near the nightclub, and a play was produced based on the interviews of Pulse survivors and those around the world who responded to the tragedy. The state lawsuit against Pulse owners Barbara and Rosario states the nightclub had inadequate security.Īside from the lawsuits, there is a Remembrance Week that is set up to remember the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting. The federal lawsuit claims police officers should have acted more aggressively to stop the shooter. Some survivors and victims' relatives have sued the Orlando Police Department and the owners of the nightclub.
